“Return to me,” says the Lord. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent — 40 days of spiritual preparation for the celebration of Easter. The message focuses on the question — What difference does it make that we serve the Lord? Worship includes meaningful music and reading of scripture and the imposition of ashes. (Christians receive a mark of ashes on their foreheads or hands as a token of penitence).
Works by T.C. Steele and Adolph Schulz and other artists grace the walls of IU Union, and the Senior Explorers enjoyed revisiting familiar artists and the ambience of the Tudor Room. Ten members joined for lunch and an afternoon of expxloration.
Join us most 2nd Tuesdays! Meet at 11:00 a.m. in the church parking lot. Next month: March 10, 2015. Visit the newly renovated museum at Columbus (IN) Regional Airport plus lunch and great conversation!
“Grasshopper Eyes and Eagles Wings” — that’s the theme for our Boy Scout Sunday observance this Sunday, February 8. Many of the scouts will be serving in worship. As a “thank you” for the church’s ongoing support of the Boy Scouts, everyone is invited to a Chili Cook-off and Brownie Bake-Off right after worship in the Fellowship Hall.
ALL ARE WELCOME!
