Exciting news — NUMC has been awarded a grant from the Center for Congregations which will pay 1/2 the cost of design work for the redevelopment of the Johnson St. Property! The Church Council approved this grant proposal in March and we should receive the money in the next couple of weeks.
The Task Force will begin meeting again this Wed., May 4 at 10:00 a.m. to proceed with this work. Thank you to Jim Goodman who chairs this task force and also to Kathy Roberts, Jenise Bohbrink, Jack Wescott, Jane Huffman, Charlie Roush who serve on the task force.
- Tonight! The Benefit Concert honoring retiring BCSchools Superintendent David Shaffer will be at 7:00 p.m. in the BCHS auditorium. It is a free concert with donations going to the Weekend Backpacks program of which David has been a strong supporter. It will be a great evening of music with teachers, parents, students and community musicians participating. A reception will follow the program. Come out and enjoy a fun evening and support hunger relief in Brown County.
- 2:00 p.m. on Sunday — Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Jackson Kelp. You’re invited to support and celebrate Jackson’s accomplishment. In the church sanctuary.
On Sunday we will hear of Lydia — the seller of purple and the first Christian in Europe. She lived in Philippi, part of the church to whom Paul later wrote:
